Lanning M. Trueb is the founding attorney of Trueb Berne & Beard, LLP, with over 30 years of experience in maritime law. Based in Anchorage, he represents seamen and their families in personal injury and wrongful death claims throughout Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. His unique legal perspective is shaped by his former career as a vessel owner and commercial salmon fisherman in the Alaska fishery. Mr. Trueb has successfully handled over a thousand maritime matters, including complex cases involving vessel sinkings and oil spill responses. He is deeply knowledgeable in federal maritime laws such as the Jones Act and has recovered millions of dollars for his clients. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Montana School of Law, he earned his J.D. with high honors. He is admitted to practice in all courts in his three primary service states and is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States. Furthermore, he serves on the Executive Committee of the Admiralty Section of the Alaska Bar Association.
